Algae is a volunteer-run fashion zine based in New York City. Our publication is open to all, but we are especially interested in writing and art from BIPOC creators, LGBTQIA+ creators, and those interested in exploring sustainability.
We have closed submissions for our upcoming issue titled "REGENERATION". However, we’re now seeking artists, musicians, and organizers to participate in the upcoming release party for Algae Magazine Issue 03. This event will explore themes of biomaterials, circular design, and the return to earth.
We welcome contributions in all forms: visual art, sound, movement, installation, and performance. We are also seeking volunteers to help with event setup, breakdown, and logistics to help bring the event to life.
We welcome all types of projects, from a photo series to a personal editorial project. However, your work must be unpublished and exclusive to algae.
Writers: send us your best poetry, fiction, and/ or creative non-fiction (including flash pieces, humor, satire, short screenplays and plays, and hybrid works).
